BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Request approval to create, post & fill one Friend of Court (FOC) Deputy position.
BACKGROUND:
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office has a long-standing partnership with FOC. This partnership allows FOC to safely and professionally provide enforcement for FOC warrants and collection of past due child support. This position will allow for an increase in the enforcement and collection of past due child support.

Back fill of associated positions.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
FOC will be paying for this position from account numbers 2150-290.00-702.000 and associated fringe accounts (see attached budget amendment). 34% of the cost is through a General Fund appropriation.

TO THE HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, GENESEE COUNTY, MICHIGAN
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
BE IT RESOLVED, by this Board of County Commissioners of Genesee County, Michigan, that the request by the Office of Genesee County Sheriff to authorize establishing, posting, and filling one (1) Friend of the Court Deputy position, said new position to be paid from account 2150-290.00-702.000 and related fringe accounts, and funded 66% by the Friend of the Court and 34% by the General Fund, is approved (a copy of the memorandum request and supporting documents being on file with the official records of the April 17, 2024 meeting of the Finance Committee of this Board), and the Chief Financial Officer is directed to record the attached budget amendment.
