BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
The Genesee County Community Action Resource Department (GCCARD) requests authorization from this committee to approve an increase of hourly wages for the GCCARD positions of Office Assistant, Kitchen Aide, Senior Kitchen Aide, Crew Worker, Nutrition Services Program Specialist, Senior Food Driver, and Senior Food Site Assistant.
BACKGROUND:
GCCARD is requesting an increase of wages for the staff positions of Office Assistant, Kitchen Aide, Senior Kitchen Aide, Crew Worker, Nutrition Services Program Specialist, Senior Food Driver, and Senior Food Site Assistant. Annual step increases for the positions of Senior Kitchen Aide, Nutrition Services Program Specialist, and Senior Food Driver will occur according to Genesee County policy at set scales.
DISCUSSION:
The objective of this wage increase is to bring GCCARD positions up to a livable and competitive level. This increase of wages for Office Assistants, Kitchen Aides, Senior Kitchen Aides, Crew Workers, Nutrition Services Program Specialist, Senior Food Drivers, and Senior Food Site Assistants would strengthen our recruiting and retention efforts.
IMPACT ON HUMAN RESOURCES:
The Genesee County Human Resources Department will be required to process notices of wage increase for the seven GCCARD positions.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There will be no impact on budget as after an analysis of funds and due to current vacancies, no budget amendments are needed. This increase will be paid from various funds and no General Fund dollars are being requested.
IMPACT ON FACILITIES:
There will be no impact on facilities.
IMPACT ON TECHNOLOGY:
There will be no impact on technology.
