RE: Notice of Intent to Sell Bonds with 45-day Referendum

BOARD ACTION REQUESTED:
Resolution authorizing a Notice of Intent to See up to $50 million in Genesee County Sewer System Bonds.
BACKGROUND:
Public Acts 342 permits counties to pledge full faith and credit backing for county improvements. Public Act 342 requires a Notice of Intent a 45-day referendum period prior to effectuation.
DISCUSSION:
Genesee County Division of Water & Waste Services has identified $50 million of capital improvements required for our facilities over the next 5 years. Projects include collection system expansion, pump station improvements or upgrades, and treatment plant improvements required to meet NPDES permit requirements.
